Safer Gambling Training for the Gambling Industry
Training from YGAM and Betknowmore UK
In 2020, leading charities the Young Gamers & Gamblers Education Trust (YGAM) and Betknowmore UK joined forces to launch Safer Gambling Training.
This programme provides gambling industry employees with specialist training to strengthen player protection standards and safeguard consumers from harm. This world-class training programme combines specialist knowledge, lived experience insight and research.
It is relevant to the requirements of the latest Gambling Commission Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP). The training has been awarded the prestigious City and Guilds Assured status.
There are six online training programmes:
- Understanding customer vulnerability in a gambling environment
- Understanding gambling-related harms
- Understanding safeguarding and managing welfare
- Enhanced skills for customer interaction
- Awareness of gambling support services
- Health and well being
These programmes are available as a suite, bespoke bundles or individual workshops, offering complete flexibility to align the training with the business requirements. All training can be completed online, with each module taking around 60 minutes to complete. The training can be easily accessed on PC, laptop or tablet at a time that suits the learner.
GamCare Gambling Industry Training Services
GamCare offers training and accreditation for the gambling industry. Their e-learning draws on GamCare’s clinical expertise and is designed with lived experience and industry input. The training is interactive to create an immersive experience for the learner and a certificate is issued on completion.
