Parent Zone - Know the steaks 

We offer information and support in understanding the digital world, to help raise resilient children. Our services include Parent Info, and the Parent Lounge, which gives access to our Parenting in the Digital Age training course.

Parent Zone's Digital Schools Membership supports schools in keeping children safer online, fostering resilience and helping them educate pupils for a digital future. As well as Digital Schools Membership, we deliver the Parent Info service (offering articles and advice for parents, to run free of charge on school websites), and in-school training sessions.

Local Authorities
Parent Zone's Digital Resilience Membership supports effective work with parents and families in all communities, covering all the issues amplified by the internet.

Parent Zone works with companies and government departments to develop greater online spaces and services for children. We partner with international businesses, including GoogleTelenor and Unilever, as well as the Home Office and the National Crime Agency’s CEOP Command, to deliver this aim.  

The Demos pilot intervention in secondary schools across England and Wales with pupils aged 14-15 aimed to teach and minimise the risks associated with gambling and signpost where to go for help and support. These lessons designed by Demos, the PSHE Association, The Mentor Foundation UK (Mentor UK), the CNWL Problem Gambling Clinic, BeGambleAware and a range of independent teachers/advisers were designed to build up the resilience of teenagers to the risks related to gambling.

Fast Forward, the Scottish youth education charity, developed a range of resources, in partnership with BeGambleAware, about youth gambling and problem gambling, to help practitioners who work with young people to design and deliver activities linked to the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.

Gaming or Gambling?

Parent Zone and BeGambleAware have partnered up to help families learn about the gambling-like risks children may face when playing online games. Schools and organisations working with families can download all the resources as worksheets, along with copies of the videos and a lesson plan Here>


YGAM Practitioner Workshops

YGAM's one-day, educational workshops are suitable for teachers, tutors, youth workers mental health specialists and anyone who comes into contact with young or vulnerable people aged 7-25.

The training is Pearson and City & Guilds assured and meets the ten principles of effective PSHE education. The YGAM programme complements many subjects within the National Curriculum, students enrichment programme and the latest Ofsted frame work around creating confident, self-assured learners who are prepared for life in the modern world.

The one-day workshop includes:
Background information on youth gambling and gaming in the UK
Introduction to, and familiarisation with the YGAM curriculum
Review existing, and create tailored lessons or schemes of work 
Practical tips on how to deliver the YGAM programme
Review the extensive YGAM resources

All delegates who complete the course will be given access to over 100 YGAM resources including lesson plans PowerPoint presentations, data sheets and activities, they will also receive a certificate of completion.
